How To Stand Up For Your Own Opinion
Understand that it will take strength to be the minority voice in a majority crowd; you will face criticism and many challenges. So perhaps change your stance from feeling like you are the minority to rather being the one able to provide a different opinion and approach.
Be the salmon that swims upstream while everyone else is swimming downstream. Do not focus on always be the vocal one, but rather focus on being the voice of reason, that when spoken automatically commands respect. Quality over your opinions vs. the quantity of the opinions you raise.
Make sure you surround yourself with colleagues who recognize your weaknesses and aren’t afraid to point them out. Don’t be afraid to understand how your weakness impact your performance and don’t be afraid to ask for help from your colleagues this is not a sign of weakness, but a sign that you are willing to change for the greater good. In life we will face a time where we need to convince a room full or majority folk of our opinion and from experience displaying humility and confidence always wins over ego and arrogance.
